tattoo artist based in Prague tattooing since 2006

“I’m always willing to listen to others’ ideas… because we can always learn more.”

Sailor Jerry Collins 1911 – 1973

Lukáš Poláček was born in Prague in 1983. He spent his childhood in the capital and eventually studied advertising and applied graphics at an art school. His artistic soul was influenced by both his parents in his early years. From a young age, Lukáš dedicated himself to drawing and painting. He attended a folk art school for several years, and at the age of 12, he gave himself his first tattoo. In his words: “I wanted to know how it would behave in the skin and what it would look like.”

He belongs to the second generation of Czech tattoo artists who entered the profession just after 2000. The oldest tattoo studio in the Czech Republic opened in 1992, marking the beginning of tattooing history in the country. In comparison, the oldest tattoo studio in Europe is Tattoo Ole in Denmark, which opened in 1884.

After high school, Lukáš pursued a career in advertising, the field he studied. However, by 2006, he was already working as a tattoo artist. He worked in two large Prague studios before deciding to travel abroad, where he gained invaluable experience. After returning home, he opened three tattoo studios, with the last one becoming a legendary establishment that shaped the Czech tattoo scene for several years. He continues to utilize his advertising background and lifelong love for art daily, now as a renowned tattoo artist.

He has experimented with almost all tattooing styles and now enjoys combining them. His dominant style is black and white realistic work combined with typography or vector graphics. Despite this, he constantly discovers new possibilities and techniques.

Harley Davidson and tattoos go together.

“Harley Davidson and tattoos go together. I became a tattoo artist more or less by chance, but I bought my Harley this year completely intentionally, just to make myself happy,” says Lukáš Poláček, the head of the most famous tattoo studio in Prague….

Lukáš has ongoing long-term projects with his regular clients, and at this time, his calendar is fully booked, with no availability for new appointments. This situation has been consistent for many years. He dedicates his remaining time to his students and side projects.

If you’re interested, you can send an email briefly describing the tattoo you’re interested in. If it fits into Lukáš’s schedule, he’ll be happy to offer you an appointment for your tattoo.
